The Port Heritage Centre for the first time provides a fascinating overview of the history of the Port of Blyth. A timeline around the walls takes visitors from it’s 12th Century origins to the present day, including the building of the first ‘Ark Royal’ and being the largest coal port in Europe! Watch out for our temporary exhibitions, developed by volunteers from Blyth Tall Ship, who are delving deeper into the Port archive. You could also consider joining them in this exciting work.
