Blyth Tall Ship Announces Heritage Lottery Investment

Blyth Tall Ship has received a confirmed grant of £777,200 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for an innovative exploration of Blyth’s ship building and Antarctic heritage from the 1800’s, it was announced this week.

The project will buy and restore a 100 year old wooden tall ship, that will be on show to the public at the Quayside in Blyth. It will start to explore, through archive research and through the practical restoration of the ship, the life of merchant adventurers from the North East who changed the face of the Globe.

There will be a number of events and new museum displays of the next few years.
